Strong Winds and Rain On Aberavon Beach
Coastwalk 2002 is a sponsored walk around Britons Coastline to publicise the work of HM Coastguard Volunteers and more importantly raise funds for the Jubilee Sailing Trust (Sailing for the physically disabled).
The walk started at Lands End on the 8th of January 2002 and will proceed clockwise around the coast of Britain and Should take a year to complete with 275 Coastguard Teams taking part
Port Talbot Team received the "Mascot" to be carried around the Coast along with a Bottle of Pussers Navy Rum from Porthcawl Coastguard Team

A welcome cuppa

On Sunday the 24th the of February Despite heavy Rain and Winds the team set out for our leg of the walk in great sprite.Passing though the Margam area and into the town then via the seafront and on to Swansea Leisure center (where we handed over to Mumbles Coastguard).

Calling at the local Pubs to collect, we wish to thank all the Land Lords and Customers who give us a great response along with the Car drivers who stopped to give a donation, helping us raise over £180 on the day

Special mention also goes to Team Member Sian Thomas for dancing on the table of the Dunes Hotel to get the lads to put some cash in.Sore feet but what a great day with some fantastic support on the way as nearly every car sounded their horns in encouragement that was a big help in helping to keep us going.
