Beach search for tots

News Item from Every Year cglogo

EMERGENCY services throughout West Glamorgan were called out twice over the weekend to search for missing children. Both the youngsters, who went missing within hours of each other, were found safe and well.
Shortly before 4pm on Saturday, coastguards began looking for a three-year-old who had wandered off at Coney Beach in Porthcawl. Porthcawl inshore lifeboat and an RAF rescue helicopter were called out to help. But the toddler was found by its parents shortly before the search units arrived.
Then at 5pm, the rescue services were asked to track down a lost six-year-old girl in Port Talbot. Coastguards, police and the inshore lifeboat combed the coastline for the youngster. She was found by police an hour later.
